The Old Guard was founded in 1966. For over 50 years, more than 100 members, retired and semi-retired business and professional men, meet weekly on Tuesday mornings at 10:25 a.m. from September through May. Meetings allow for informal coffee and conversation followed by guest speakers, reports on activities and a song session.

Welcome to the internet home of the Old Guard. It is my honor to serve as current president.

The Old Guard has just completed its first half century of serving its members and their communities in the Capitol Region. Members are retired and semi-retired professional men. Weekly meetings are held throughout the year on Tuesday mornings except for the summer months.

Membership provides opportunity for retired men to renew old neighborhood or professional acquaintances or to make new friends at meetings and sponsored activities. Many men enjoy participating in sports or civic activities, while some simply enjoy the opportunity to visit with community and business leaders on topical issues. Prospective members are invited to attend a regular meeting to see if they would like to join. Membership chairman Tom Goodrum's email contact is listed below.

Also below are members of the Board of Directors who provide valuable leadership to the Old Guard and manage their varied activities.
