Adaptive Climbing

This program is an adaptive climbing program. We provide certified staff along with the assistance of volunteers to teach basic belay and safety, climbing techniques , and skills to explore and build confidence.

Belay & Safety

Certified instructors who will acquaint participants with all equipment and procedures needed for successful climbing teach this two-hour class: belay techniques, harnessing, knot tying and fundamental climbing skills. Completion of this class is required to participate in Open Climbs. Taking and passing Belay Test is required.

Cliffhangers (Grades 5 - 8)

Teens have an opportunity to progress in climbing level throughout multiple sessions, with opportunities for progression in each session. Levels based on climbing skill, knowledge of safe climbing practices, and leadership within the class. This is a 1 or 2 hour class depending on branch.

Kid Rockers (Grades 1-4)

Kids learn climbing safety, skill and confidence. Our newest climbers will have a chance to earn their Lizard award by displaying a positive attitude and effort to learn how to climb. From there, climbers can earn their Chipmunk, Squirrel, Koala, Spider & Monkey awards. Climbers are awarded these levels based on increasing climbing skill, knowledge and use of safe practices, and willingness to help other climbers

Mountain Lions Rock Climbing Team (Ages 6&up)

Building confidence and facing challenges. Our new competitive climbing team began this fall. We offer weekly practices and compete locally. We utilize a fully automatic timing system for speed climbing, speed bouldering, relays & tournaments. Call the sports director for more information:

Parent/Child Climbing Class (Ages 4 & Older)

Parents and children have fun together, learn together, and spend quality time in a supportive atmosphere. Never climbed before? No problem! Our staff will help you learn and feel comfortable with the sport and the equipment. Please note: both parent and child must register.

Preschool Rockers (Ages 4 - 6)

For our fearless youngsters! Student must be able to take and follow directions independently to participate in this class. The instructor will assess student's readiness for this class during the first class meeting. Some branches require a Pre-requisite.

Join us for this popular indoor program.  Participants will learn climbing techniques, terminology, knot tying, and route setting with time allotted for swimming and outdoor activities.
