Sponsorships are available for a variety of YMCA of Greater Hartford programming. Three primary examples are:
The Minority Achievers Program (MAP) Annual Banquet, which has featured Dr. Maya Angelou, Ms. Ruby Dee, Miss America Erica Dunlap, and NASA astronaut Dr. Bernard H. Harris, Jr. The YMCA Minority Achievers Program teaches leadership and self-assurance to primarily minority youth in grades 5th thru 9th. Curricula include Science, Finance, Journalism/Media, and the YMCA Youth and Leadership program. The program helps youth develop a positive sense of self, raises academic standards, and recognizes and promotes excellence.
The Annual YMCA of Greater Hartford Kids to Camp Golf Tournament, raises funds to provide scholarships to send kids to YMCA Camps throughout the Greater Hartford region.
The Downtown YMCA Annual Dinner, raises funds to provide assistance to Read to Succeed literacy program and scholarship assistance for YMCA Youth Sports programs. Guest speakers have included Wilt Chamberlain, Don Zimmer, and Don Larson.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available for Moderate Voices of Progress, Teen Worldwide Service and other International programs.
