Youth Day Camps
Camp Shining Stars
For campers entering grades K 6
This state-licensed camp is held at Hanmer Elementary School in Wethersfield. Each day is filled with fun and enriching experiences which promote skill development, self-confidence and encourages friendships. All aspects of our day camp program strive to put our YMCA Mission into action.
Our program will have a new format this year which allows our campers more choice in the activities they participate in. Each camper will have a head counselor and home group that he or she checks in with throughout the camp day. Camp will begin and end with campers gathering in their home groups. During the day, a variety of choices will be available and campers will sign up for their activities at the beginning of the day.
Some of the activities available at camp this year will be sports (soccer, baseball, kickball, etc), arts and crafts, team building, field games, drama activities, recreational swimming, nature study and more.
Each camper should bring a labeled bag lunch, drinks and two snacks each day. Your child should also have a swim suit and towel as well as a bottle of sunscreen for reapplying throughout the day. Please have campers apply sunscreen prior to arriving at camp. Valuables such as video games, jewelry, cell phones, etc. should not be brought to camp. The YMCA is not responsible for lost valuables.
Full-Day and Half-Day options available, based on availability. If you select the half-day option, either AM or PM must be selected for the entire week. All participants must have a valid Greater Hartford YMCA membership.

*Camp will be held on July 4th for children who would like to attend this day. We ask that you notify camp staff by July 2nd if your child will be present at camp on the 4th.

Camp Hours: 7:00 a.m. 5:30 p.m.
(Camp activities run from 9:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.)

Pre-Camp Summer Fun Days
June 18, 19, 20th
For children entering grades K 6
A fun way to spend the days before summer camp begins. Program will be offered beginning the day after Wethersfield Public Schools final day of classes. Start date may vary based on Snow Day make-up days. Activities include sports (soccer, baseball, kickball, etc), arts and crafts, team building, field games, drama activities, nature study and more. Participants should bring a labeled bag lunch, drinks and two snacks each day.Fee due in full upon registration.
Full Day Option
Hours: 7:00 a.m. 5:30 p.m. (Activities run from 9:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.)
Fee per day: $37
Half Day Morning Option based on availability
Hours: 7:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m.

Post-Camp Summer Fun Days

For children entering grades K 6
Program will be offered for the three days prior to the start of Wethersfield Public Schools for the 08 school year. Activities include sports (soccer, baseball, kickball, etc), arts and crafts, team building, field games, drama activities, nature study and more. Participants should bring a labeled bag lunch, drinks and two snacks each day.Fee due in full upon registration.

Family Nights!
Each summer we have family nights that give campers the opportunity to show parents around camp, meet other families, and have fun together.
We have three nights planned for this summer. They are as follows:
- July 18th - International Potluck
- August 8th - Summer BBQ Family Night
- August 22nd - Farewell to Summer Carnival
