The infant and toddler program is designed to give children the attention and care that they need in a nurturing environment. An atmosphere that allows children the opportunities to explore, socialize, create and delight in the world around them. New skills are encouraged for each child as they progress through the various developmental stages. The YMCA uses The Creative Curriculum® for Preschoolers to guide young children and prepare them for later learning.
The YMCA’s full-day preschool program fosters growth and development by providing balanced activities that encourage physical, intellectual and positive emotional development. The YMCA’s half-day Nursery School program fosters growth and development by providing a balanced range of activities that encourage physical and intellectual development while creating positive social and emotional attitudes. This program combines a classroom atmosphere with kindergarten readiness curriculum, play, circle time, creative crafts, music and field trips.
All of the YMCA’s before and after-school programs involve activities that reflect the mission of the YMCA. They are focused on providing enrichment activities that enhance personal growth, introduce new activities and support your child’s school curriculum, without duplicating what is already being done during the school day. Working parents prefer to select program providers where their children feel safe, cared for and are given intellectual stimulation and fun activities. With safety, caring and personal growth as our guide, we have no doubt that your children will have fun, grow and develop, learn to and make new friends.
