The YMCA of Greater Hartford, East Hartford branch is looking for a motivated, independent, hardworking individual to direct and manage a large Child Care department with 3 Full Day Centers, and 4 School Age Child Care Sites. Two of the sites are School Readiness Grant Programs, and two of the sites are partially funded food programs. Budget responsibility is approximately $650,000 with an additional $600,000 in grants administration. The department has three full time Center Directors, four other full time staff and a part time staff of 20-25. Job responsibilities include management skills to recruit, supervise, motivate and develop staff and volunteers. Applicant must have effective communications skills-oral, written and listening, basic marketing skills for program promotion, teaching skills; curriculum implementation, computer skills and the ability to effective and efficiently multi-task. Director will plan, conduct and document staff meetings, focusing on member service, safety, and review of established policies and procedures, and the NAEYC Accreditation process. Must possess and display a high level of maturity and have the ability to manage stress responsibly along with strong interpersonal skills. 3-5 years of supervisory experience preferred.
