2008 Downtown YMCA Benefit Dinner

Please join the Downtown YMCA on November 5, 2008, at the Hartford Hilton for an evening of fun and excitement as we pay tribute to professional sports legends. As you mingle with friends and local notables, you will feast on a fabulous meal in the grandeur of the Hartford Hilton ballroom and bid for one-of-a-kind sports memorabilia items in live and silent auctions throughout the evening.

Funds raised from the event benefit the Downtown YMCA’s Read to Succeed and youth sports programs. The Read to Succeed program celebrates its 17th anniversary in 2008. This goal-oriented program gives adults with reading disabilities the opportunity to lead productive and fulfilling lives by providing comprehensive reading, writing and spelling instruction. The YMCA’s youth sports programs engage inner city children in healthy activities while learning leadership and conflict resolution skills in a teamwork environment. These two programs represent the YMCA’s core mission of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
