Camp Chase is unique in several important ways:

  1. We heavily emphasize the concept of challenging campers to learn and grow through activities and events centered around our character values-- honesty, respect, responsibility and caring; and the YMCA mission. These “core” values guide everything we do. Campers leave after two weeks with improved self-esteem and self confidence—and an understanding that they are part of something greater than themselves.
  2. The concept of Camp Spirit is highly prevalent. Creative programming and imaginative themes set-up campers for a exciting and motivating experience that rewards them for having fun and acting silly and crazy, while simultaneously learning and focusing on our character values. The Spirit Cup is given at the end of each session for the group that most embodies these character values and maintain a consistently high level of camp spirit.
  3. Camp Chase’s dynamic and creative session themes are uniquely developed and utilized. The daily performances, dress-up days, and all-camp events that highlight the theme are always amazing in their scope of imagination. Whether it’s building a pirate ship around the amphitheatre stage for Pirates of the Caribbean theme, or having an all-camp water game show for Surf’s Up theme, your camper is bound to be in awe. Our slogan is “Go Big or Go Home!”
  4. The YMCA financial assistance program makes Camp Chase a viable option for families of any income level
