Joey Gugino : Unit Three Director

Joey will be spending this summer with us at Camp Woodstock , as the Unit Three Director. Joey loves the outdoors, and seems to have a constant need to be on the move - a great characteristic to have at summer camp. Joey has grown up here at camp, spending his first year as a camper in Cabin 5 ten years ago. Aside from the summer, Joey also works in the off season at camp, and loved hanging out at Winter Reunion. He’s now a professional monster miniature golfer. When not at camp, Joey studies Elementary Education and Business Administration at Endicott College. He also loves lacrosse, and plays for Endicott's nationally ranked team. Joey has a passion for fishing, and can be found even in the winter time out on Black Pond, drilling a hole in the ice to find those fish. Joey has two younger brothers, who also work at Camp Woodstock , and you can always tell a Gugino is around when a Buffalo Bills flag is flying. Joey and his brothers are fanatics! Joey’s favorite activity at camp is, of course, fishing, though lacrosse is a close second. He loves grilled cheese and tomato soup, and enjoys hanging out on the cabin field, where he can throw around a Frisbee and meet new friends. We are so excited to have Joey’s charisma, kindness, and energy here at Camp this summer, and he can’t wait to see all of you!

Katie O. : Program Director

Katie O., as she has been known since her LIT year, has been spending her summers at Camp Woodstock since 2001. This summer Katie O. will be the Program Director. Katie O. loves the outdoors, and seems to have a constant smile - a great thing to have when you work with so many people. Aside from the summer, Katie O. also works in the off season at camp, and loves hanging out at Winter Reunion. She is now a professional at outdoor cooking and is the only one who knows the secret to Lynne's cheese cake recipe. When not at camp, Katie O. studies Elementry Education at Mary Washington in Virginia. Tony still thinks Katie O. attends Martha Washington and studies flag making. She also loves cheerleading for her University, and plays checkers competitively against all the Sioux. Katie O. has a passion for hard work, and can be found typing notes, thinking up new ideas and planning programs in the Program Office. Katie O. 's favorite place at camp is the flag pole during line up. She can feel the energy of the camp at every line up and really gets pumped up from that energy. Her favorite choice acts include outdoor cooking, field hockey, arts and crafts and fishing. She loves Camp Woodstock pizza night. We are so excited to have Katies smile, kindness, and work ethic here at Camp this summer, and she can’t wait to see all of you!

Mike Lopes : CIT Director

This summer is Mike's 9th at Woodstock and he could not be more excited for it. Mike will be a CIT director this year, meaning it is his job to teach the youngest counselors how to love camp as much as he does. Mike will be a Junior at the University of Connecticut in the Fall where he is supposed to be an American Studies major but spends most of his time day dreaming about the summertime. Mike plays for Uconn's Ultimate Frisbee team, he first learned how to play Ultimate at camp and it's something he's been improving at since his earliest days here. As a counselor, Mike was Outdoor Adventure director, Agressive Mountain Sports director, and Archery director so he kept busy to say the least. Last year he won two Director's trophies with great leadership amazing co-staff and fantastic cabins. Mike is known for his loud cheers during meals, classic raids and it was said that he once took part in the movement of a picnic table to the floating dock on Black Pond, but that's just speculation... Camp made Mike the person he is today and is counting down the days until camp finally begins for the summer.
