Camp Jewell offers a comprehensive horseback riding lesson program in the spring and late fall for local community residents. Lessons are open and catered to children and adults ages 5 and up. Riders of all skills and abilities are welcome.
Riders, under the instruction of professionals certified by the CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association) or ARIA (American Riders Instruction Association), learn the fundamentals of riding, and receive instruction in:
Camp Jewell requires that all riders wear ASTM/SEI certified riding helmets when in proximity to horses. Riders may bring their own helmet or borrow a camp helmet. Riders are also required to wear sturdy shoes or boots that have a small heel. Long pants are recommended. Dress should be weather appropriate.
Fee:
$22 per one hour lesson
$35 per person for a one hour trail ride (minimum of 3 people)
$50 per hour for private riding lessons (6 hour minimum, please call for availability)
