Adventure Trips 2008

Ages 13-17 All trips are 1 week in duration and cost is $795.00

Adventure trips offer young adults, ages 13-17, a challenging experience in some of the most beautiful parts of the country. The program focuses on building self-confidence and teamwork within the tripping group. All trips stress cultural appreciation and environmental stewardship and include leadership opportunities and outdoor skills training.

Trips are led by specially trained staff selected for their experience on the trail, good judgment and extensive certifications. Many trips fill early, please call for availability.

To register, parents must submit a signed registration form with a $200 deposit (non-refundable, non-transferable). Specific information for each trip can be obtained by calling the camp office or downloading a trip specific brochure. Trips are one week in length and begin at Camp Jewell. The program starts Sunday at 3pm and ends Saturday at 10am.

Cape Cod Explorer June 22-28 / July 20 -26

Set our and explore the islands and mainland of Cape Cod on your bike! Destinations include visits to Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Eastham and Provincetown. Activities also include a whale-watch boat tour and sea kayaking in Nauset Marsh.

Mystery Machine June 29 - July 5

Do you like solving mysteries? Do you like surprises? If so, you will love our mystery trip! Each day you will search for clues to guide you to new destinations and activities anywhere in New England! Parents are given an itinerary at check in.

Presidential Journey July 6-12

Go deep into the majestic and beautiful white mountains of New Hampshire. Hike up to the peak of Mount Washington, take a cable car ride to the top of Cannon Mountain, Mt. Bike at Loon Ski Resort, and explore the cliffs and river canyon of “The Flume.”

Acadia Adventure July 13-19

Acadia National Park, located along the rugged seashore of Maine, is ranked as one of the most beautiful places in North America. Destinations include Otter Cliffs, Cadillac Mountain, and Coastal Islands. Activities include tandem sea kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, camping, and volunteer work.

Lake George Sail July 27-August 2

Biking Girl

Explore the crystal blue waters of Lake George by sailboat while surrounded by the beautiful Adirondack Mountains! Destinations include YMCA Camp Chingachgook, Adirondack Park, and the High Peaks Regions. Activities include a four day sailing trip, hiking, and camping.

You Decide 2008 August 3-9

Democracy in action! The ultimate team building experience! With the guidance of experienced staff, you and your team members develop a plan, budget, and itinerary for the week. Visit an amusement park! Hike in New Hampshire’s White Mountains! Kayak or canoe! Parents are emailed the trip itinerary on Monday morning before departure.

Appalachian White Water August 10-16

Explore the whitewater rapids of the Appalachians! Destinations include Pennsylvania and New York, with visits to the Youghiogheny River and Ohiopyle Park. Activities include whitewater rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, water sliding, and relaxing!
